Liquid Silicone
Rubber Molding
Approach

Silicone rubber (LSR) molding, varies slightly from rigid plastic injection molding due to its ductility. It is a thermoset method that cools the material system, LSR mold tooling is built using CNC machining to construct a high-temperature tool, that can withstand the LSR molding process. The tooling is polished after cnc milling to buyer specifications, that allows for multiple degrees of standard surface finishes. Thus, the finished tooling is then loaded into a liquid silicone rubber injection molding machine. Inevitably, the machine uses a clamp unit with the sole purpose to contain the expansion force of the silicone material and keeping the mold closed as the silicone cures.

Common
Applications

  • Bridge Tooling
  • Fuel Systems
  • Functional Prototypes
  • General Industrial Use
  • Medical
  • Oil Resistant Applications
  • Pilot Runs
  • Production Molding

LSR-Silicone rubber is a durable & highly-resistant elastomer (rubber-like material), conceived of silicone (polymer) containing silicone together with other molecule such as carbon. Parts made of silicone rubber when exposed to rain, UV rays, and wind for long periods result in virtually no change in physical properties. With these unique characteristics, silicone rubber is widely used in industries such as aerospace, automotive, food processing, medical and industrial applications. So, we can review your new or current part designs for silicone injection molded parts at any time for your project.
